This Christmas I couldn't find anything I wanted to give to my family. I'm also running low on liquid assets to actually buy anything for them because, well, shamefully I spent most of it on myself. I admit it, I'm a consumer and this winter I've been selfish. But really even if I had cash in hand, I was just not sure what to get my family this year. They pretty much have everything. So today (I know I'm late with the present), I ran across the One Laptop per Child program. I had heard of it before and the foundation has gotten quite a bit of press. Overall, I'm fairly impressed with the program and the idea, so I decided to give my family's Christmas money to this program instead. Executive decision, your Christmas gift is now a laptop to a kid in a developing country. Hopefully they will not be using it to hack into your computer or send you email scams.
